Pittsburgh Events This Week: Penguins Hockey, Jim Gaffigan & Three Rivers Film Festival (November 2 – 8, 2026)
The angle this week: the Steelers are on bye and Pitt is idle, so it’s a hockey-and-comedy week. The Penguins host Vegas on Tuesday and Boston on Thursday (both 7 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena, fresh off Sid’s NHL record for assists with one franchise), then head to LA on Saturday. Jim Gaffigan plays PPG Paints Arena Saturday at 7 p.m., and the Three Rivers Film Festival opens Wednesday night with the Mr. Smalls documentary premiere.
I verified everything against official sources: game dates and times, Gaffigan’s doors/show, film festival opening night details, Mr. Smalls doors times, PSO’s Tchaikovsky program running Friday through Sunday, and the free Latin American & Caribbean Festival at Pitt on Saturday. I also caught that the Leenalchi show at the Warhol on Monday was canceled, so I left it out, and both Phipps’ Fall Flower Show and Kennywood’s Phantom Fall Fest ended November 1, so the post frames this as the in-between weekend before holiday season kicks off.
